Middlesbrough FC have just announced nominees for their player of the year.

Darren Randolph, Dael Fry, Jonny Howson and Lewis Wing are the four the club have selected but judging by the reaction on Twitter Boro fans have a clear favourite.

Randolph, 31, has been in scintillating form this season, making 44 appearances and conceding just 39 goals, whilst he has also kept 19 clean sheets which is the joint most with Dean Henderson of Sheffield United.

The Ireland international has gone over and above despite the side's recent struggles and appears to be clear favourite for the award, with one fan claiming it was "The Darren Randolph Player of the Year Award."

It certainly seems that in a season of disappointment for the Boro, due to the fact they are now likely to miss out on a playoff spot, Randolph has stood out with his professionalism and commitment.

And judging by the Twitter reactions down below, he is the only player to come out of the campaign with any credit whatsoever...
