Middlesbrough fans desperate to keep Fabio

Brazilian defender Fabio has been strongly linked with a transfer away from Middlesbrough over the last few weeks, and Nantes are reportedly closing on a deal.

The 28-year-old, who played 56 times for Manchester United between 2008 and 2014, joined Boro from Cardiff City in the summer of 2016.

The versatile defender played 25 times during Boro’s 2016-17 Premier League season, but he featured in less than half of the club’s Championship games last term.

Speculation linking the two-time Brazil international with a move from the Riverside Stadium is refusing to go away, and the Boro supporters have been airing their views on social media.

There is usually a split when it comes to transfer speculation of this kind, but a large number of the Boro supporters are desperate to keep the 5ft 8in ace ahead of the new campaign.
