Middlesbrough are interested in signing Millwall midfielder George Saville on loan before the end of the month, as covered by Gazette Live.

Saville, who came through the youth system at Chelsea, joined Millwall from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent deal in 2017 after two previous loan spells with the Lions.

The 25-year-old scored 10 times for Millwall in the Championship last season, and also made his debut for Northern Ireland during the 2017-18 campaign.

According to Gazette Live, Boro want to sign Saville on a season-long loan before completing a permanent deal in next summer's transfer window.

The Boro fans have been reacting to the transfer speculation on social media, and it would be fair to say that they are not overly pleased with the news.

Indeed, many have questioned whether Saville is better than what the club currently have, and feel that head coach Tony Pulis should be looking at other options.
