According to Sky Sports News, Middlesbrough have accepted a £15m offer from Burnley for central defender Ben Gibson.
Burnley are believed to have failed with two separate bids of £12m and £13m over the last few days, but have now reportedly had a £15m offer accepted by Boro.
Personal terms are not expected to be a problem, and the 25-year-old could make his debut for Burnley in their Premier League opener with Southampton next weekend.
Gibson came through the youth system at Boro, and has made over 200 appearances for the club in all competitions – including 50 last term.
There is no question that the centre-back is a popular figure at the Riverside Stadium, but the Boro fans are seemingly happy for him to move on for £15m.
It is a good price for a Championship defender, and the Boro supporters feel that they are well covered in that position.

After the season Gibson just produced, 15mill is absolutely fine with me 🤷🏻♂️

Was always going to happen. Flint and Ayala are rocks in the championship and Fry can slot in as back up. All the best to him he’s given everything to the club but he deserves a chance in the Prem

Good luck to him

£15m’s about right. Good in the Prem but was bullied last season in the Champ.
