Middlesbrough have it all to do in their English Championship play-off semi-final after a defeat at home to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Losing the match 1-0, Tony Pulis’ side now need a mammoth performance to turn things around at Villa Park on Tuesday night, with a place at Wembley and promotion to the Premier League at stake.
Fans were left disappointed with not just the result but also the general display from their side, singling out the likes of Adama Traore for a particularly poor performance.
Traore has scored five goals and created 10 assists this season but was unable to cope with the defensive efforts of Alan Hutton on Saturday, failing to have much of an effect on the game in the final third.
Supporters are now desperate for him to improve for the mid-week second leg, believing he does have the ability on his day to produce something special for Boro.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
Not good enough. Traore 1 or 2 flashes of brilliance but largely just running into a crowd of players when the pass is the better option. Trying too hard to impress his former club maybe. #boro #borolive

We might have a chance if the good Traore and Downing turn up next time and Pulis has the guts to play Bamford and Assombalonga together at Villa Park #utb

Flashback to the Traore of old today. Selfish with his movement and passing – makes it impossible for teammates to join in. He choked badly today, it was like playing with 10 #borolive

33-year-old Alan Hutton played Adama Traore off the park today, a total embarrassment. Take Chelsea’s £20 million and run to the hills with it. As for Downing, don’t even get me started. #borolive

How many times has Traore ran into trouble today ffs #borolive

Downing, Friend, Shotton, Britt, Traore and Gibson all having shockers. Not a great platform #borolive
