Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Middlesbrough defender Fabio this summer – as covered by NottinghamshireLive – and the Boro fans have been reacting to the news.
Indeed, it is being reported that Forest boss Aitor Karanka, who brought Fabio to the Riverside Stadium back in August 2016, wants a reunion with the Brazilian defender this summer.
Fabio, who is valued at £1.4m by Transfermarkt, struggled for football at Boro last season, with head coach Tony Pulis preferring George Friend in the left-back position.
The former Manchester United defender did play enough matches to trigger a 12-month extension to his current deal, however, which has ensured that Boro will receive a transfer fee if he leaves the club this summer.
The 27-year-old did not start a single Championship match under Pulis last term, and it would not be a surprise to see the two-time international leave Boro ahead of the new season.
The Boro supporters have been reacting to the speculation on social media, and there are certainly some fans that believe he should be in the team ahead of Friend.

Didn’t he want to go back to Brazil?

Why is everyone buying our players. If they were that good we wouldve gone up ??

Bad bad move by Boro to let him go, would rather lose Friend whose best years are behind him

No player is going anywhere without the nod from Pulis
The Bamford “links” have proved that

Fabio isn’t going to play so might as well get some cash for him.
