With the loan market coming to a close, Middlesbrough have just over one week to secure any deals for the season.

The Championship outfit have been heavily linked with moves for Everton duo Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic.

Now, another Premier League has entered the fray in the form of Jason Puncheon, who can play on either wing or through the middle.

According to football insider Graeme Bailey, Boro manager Tony Pulis has now turned his attention to Puncheon.

It is believed that if the club convince Bolasie to move to the Riverside Stadium, then the versatile Palace player is likely to also agree to a move.

Puncheon has been at Selhurst Park since 2014 when he made the move from Southampton.

In recent seasons, though, the 32-year-old has struggled for game time, and in the 2017-18 campaign he made just 10 top-flight appearances, only six of which were starts.

On Twitter, some Boro fans have assessed whether signing Puncheon would be a good option, and the reaction is divided.
