Middlesbrough have made an enquiry regarding the availability of impressive Manchester United attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira and are hopeful of tying up a loan deal for him, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old Brazilian has been on the periphery of the Red Devils’ first-team for some time, but it’s understood that he’s one of a host of players to have been informed by manager Jose Mourinho that he has no immediate future at the club.
Although Donald Love and Paddy McNair have since been sold to Sunderland, reports claim that Man United are only willing to let Pereira leave on loan, and Middlesbrough have responded with an enquiry about a deal.
Boro wanted the youngster during the back-end of their promotion-winning campaign last term, but could not get an emergency deal done, and it seems they’ve remained keen despite this.
However, Pereira himself is concerned that by moving on he may slide further down the pecking order at Old Trafford and he believes he could get chances in cup and European games should he stay, which he may be able to use to impress Mourinho.
‘Mou’ himself would rather the silky starlet plays regularly at the highest level and Boro are far more likely to afford him minutes.
