Tony Pulis should be satisfied with how Middlesbrough’s season has panned out so far.

The club lost some key players in Adama Traore and Patrick Bamford but they have managed to launch a promotion challenge in the Championship.

As it stands, the club sit fourth in the table, three points adrift of leaders Sheffield United, but they were dealt a blow prior to the international break.

The team were beaten 2-0 by Nottingham Forest on home soil, and there has been a running theme this season of Boro failing to capitalise.

Pulis’s side have had a handful of opportunities to move to the top of the standings, but they have squandered their chances, which may lead to the club dipping into the transfer market in January.

During the summer Queens Parks Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman was linked with a move to the Riverside Stadium, but after two bids were rejected he stayed put.

Now, though, the 26-year-old, who bagged an impressive 12 assists last season, has admitted that he considered joining Boro.

As quoted by West London Sport, Freeman said that he would be “lying if I said my head wasn’t turned” due to the fact that his chances of Premier League promotion were greater at Boro.

After these comments emerged, we asked you if Pulis should revive his interest in Freeman in the winter window, and the majority of fans polled believe that they have a chance of luring him to the club.
