Newcastle boss won’t let ace leave for less than £10m

Alan Pardew will not allow Papiss Cisse to leave Newcastle for anything less than £10million, according to the Daily Mail.

The Senegal striker has been linked with a January move away from St James’ Park, after losing his regular first team place to Loic Remy.

Reports have suggested the forward has been the subject of a £9million bid from an unnamed Qatar club, and his agents are thought to be working overtime to get him a January move away from the North-East.

Cisse was strongly linked with a move away in the summer, with Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala reportedly keen to sign him.

The forward has managed just one Premier League goal since April – a penalty in the 5-1 win over Stoke City on Boxing Day.

But the club remain firm on their stance the forward will not be sold for anything less than £10million.

Cisse joined the club for £9million from Freiburg in January 2011, and has managed 22 goals in 64 games for the club – although 13 of those came in his first six months.

Pardew has acknowledged the 29-year-old’s unhappiness in recent weeks, but added that he will remain on the bench as long as his preferred front three of Remy, Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko remain fit.
