Newcastle eyeing shock move to re-sign Chelsea ace

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is keen to seal a January deal to bring Demba Ba back to the club from Chelsea, according to reports from The Express.

The Senegalese star swapped St James’ Park for Stamford Bridge 12 months ago, but already looks to have no future with the Blues.

After initially enjoying first-team action under Rafael Benitez, Ba has since been frozen out of the starting XI by Jose Mourinho – who is rumoured to be looking assigning a new goalscorer either this month or over the summer.

This has opened the door for a potential loan move away from London for the hit-man in the coming weeks, which has alerted Pardew.

Prior to his switch to Chelsea, Ba was thought of as one of the Premier League’s top forwards thanks to a series of important goals and excellent performances in the black and white shirt.

Pardew is ready to launch a move for a new striker to support on loan ace Loic Remy, and is hopeful that he can set up a reunion with the former ‘Toon’ idol.

Ba himself may be keen on a possible loan switch back to Newcastle, with regular playing time a priority.

Although the 28-year-old is considered to be one of Pardew’s top targets, it’s understood that the ex-Southampton boss also has a number of other names on his winter wish list.
