Newcastle keen on Man City outcast

Abdisalam IbrahimNewcastle are monitoring Manchester City midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim, according to reports from The Express.

The 22-year-old is currently on-loan with Norwegian side Stromsgodset, but is believed to have a bleak future at the Etihad Stadium.

Even though the rangy midfielder is regarded as a top talent by City, the presence of a number of big name players is likely to threaten his future in the sky blue shirt with his contract due to expire next summer.

Newcastle are keen to take advantage of this with a move to offer him an escape route.

The Magpies are desperate to put their woeful summer transfer window dealings behind them and are already plotting future moves.

Ibrahim has emerged as a top target, and a player that the ‘Toon’ are confident they can allow a platform to improve his abilities.

City are believed to be open to selling in January in a bid to receive a small fee rather than allow him to leave for free at the end of the season.

Newcastle are not the only side keen on the Norway U-21 international, with Saint Etienne, Sevilla and Galatasaray just a small selection of European clubs all monitoring his situation.

Could Newcastle be picking up a real bargain if they swoop for Abdisalam Ibrahim?
