Goalkeeper – Tim Krul

It’s no coincidence that Newcastle’s form suffered greatly last year in the injury absence of resident No.1 Tim Krul.

In contrast, the Netherlands goalie has played every minute of every game for the Toon this year, and they now sit pretty at eighth in the Premier League table.

The 25 year-old could go to the World Cup as Oranjge’s first choice ‘keeper too, considering Michel Vorm and Maarten Stekelenburg have both struggled for fitness and form this term.

Krul undoubtedly remains a central figure in Alan Pardew’s first team plans, but reports that the 6 foot 4, eight-year-serving Magpies goalkeeper could be on his way to Serie A in the summer will be a lingering concern for the Newcastle boss.
