Norwich should make a shrewd move for Bournemouth's out-of-favour striker Jermain Defoe, who has struggled for game time since arriving on the South Coast.

What's the word, then?

The England international is currently the Cherries' fourth choice striker at the Vitality Stadium behind Callum Wilson, Josh King and Lys Mousset, making just four Premier League appearances this season all from the substitutes' bench.

Defoe has also made three League Cup starts this season aswell, but is yet to find the back of the net. Despite that, we all know just how much of a lethal goalscorer he can be, and still is - he just needs consistent gametime.

Eddie Howe doesn't seem too fussed about playing the former Tottenham man, nor does he seem like he would care too much if he were to leave the club, so it seems best for all parties if the 36-year-old departs for pastures new.

Where should he go?

Championship leaders Norwich should definitely have one eye on signing the prolific frontman, perhaps on an initial loan deal with a view to making it permanent should they achieve promotion.

The Canaries have two of the second tier's hottest strikers in Jordan Rhodes and Teemu Pukki, but literally any club in the Championship would be a fool not to make a move for a seemingly available Defoe.

He could have the same impact in getting them over the finishing line as veteran Kevin Phillips did for Crystal Palace back in 2013. If their budget allows for it, a move for a man who has been able to find the back of the net at every club he's ever been at throughout his career should be a no-brainer.
