Norwich should make a move for Fulham's out of favour midfielder Stefan Johansen, as they look to mount a return to England's top-flight.

What's the word, then?

Johansen arrived at Fulham from Celtic back in 2016 and quickly became a key man in Slavisa Jokanovic's midfield, where he also became somewhat of a goalscorer with his well timed runs from deep and clinical finishing.

The Norwegian scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in his first season at Craven Cottage, before going on to record eight goals and nine assists for the Cottagers as they won promotion via the play-offs last season.

However, this season, due to a barrage of new arrivals in the summer, the 27-year-old has found himself out of the team as £55m duo André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Jean Michael Seri have been preferred as they look to justify their huge price tags.

Why would Norwich want him?

If the Canaries managed to pull off either a loan deal or a permanent deal for the former Celtic man, they would be getting a player who has arguably been one of the Championship's best in recent years.

In Moritz Leitner and Alexander Tettey, Daniel Farke already has a very effective midfield duo at his disposal - however, the Championship is a long old season.

Norwich have 28 more games to play as they look to maintain their lead at the top of the table, although they would be wise to strengthen in January with a few more additions as the gap between first and tenth is just ten points; even just a run of draws may see the Canaries slip behind.

Johansen would be a fantastic addition and seems tailor made for the system currently being used by Farke, one which requires players with a lot of energy and stamina as well as a useful technical edge to their play.

There will be times when they are up against it towards the business end of the season, but with Johansen in their ranks, the potential for point-grabbing goals to kill games off is high.
