Adam Crookes will come back a better player for Forest after his loan

Nottingham Forest have sent Adam Crookes out on loan to Lincoln City for the season according to BBC Sport.

What’s the story?

The 20-year-old joined Forest as a schoolboy and progressed through the club’s academy system but is yet to make a senior appearance at the City Ground.

The defender had a trial with Lincoln City this summer and impressed for the club in friendlies against Norwich City, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County U23s.

The versatile player will spend the season on loan at the Imps where he will gain his first taste of the Football League after spending time at non-league outfit Guiseley last season.

Good move

Crookes is unlikely to break into the Forest first-team any time soon, particularly with the myriad of new signings that Aitor Karanka has brought in this summer.

The loan move should benefit all parties as Crooke gains more first-team experience and Lincoln gain a quality player with raw talent for the season.

Forest will hopefully reap the rewards of the loan over the coming years as he looks to force his way into Karanka’s plans.
