Nottingham Forest are closing in on signing West Ham United right-back Sam Byram on loan, according to The Sun.
Aitor Karanka has been busy in the transfer window this summer as he attempts to shape a team worthy of promotion to the Premier League.
The Reds have recruited Gil Dias, Michael Dawson, Diogo Goncalves and Joao Carvalho.

Now, it seems that Byram is on their radar as they hunt for a replacement for Eric Lichaj.
On Monday, The Sun reported that the 24-year-old is on the verge of joining Forest on a season-long loan.
From Forest’s point of view, there is a slight risk due to the right-back’s lack of game time last season.
In fact, Byram made just five Premier League appearances for the East London outfit.
Forest will be hoping that the right-back will hit the ground running, but due to his lack of minutes, it may take him some time.
For Byram, moving to the City Ground could be a great switch for his career.
If he manages to play regularly and impress, then he could end up returning to West Ham and given chance.
