HYS: Should Diogo Goncalves start for Forest against Stoke?

Nottingham Forest have won their last two league games against Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham and things seem to be finally clicking for Aitor Karanka’s side after the Spanish boss made 16 signings during the summer.

Despite the run, the Carabao Cup tie with Championship strugglers Stoke City on Wednesday could be a good chance for the manager to rotate and take a look at some of the players who have struggled to break into the starting line up so far this season.

Portuguese youngster Diogo Goncalves is one of those players who will be hoping for a rare chance to impress at the City Ground. The 21-year-old joined the Reds on loan from Portuguese giants Benfica in the summer but has since only made two Championship appearances and one in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

An exciting young winger, he could take the place of record-signing Joao Carvalho, who has been on top form recently. Carvalho also joined the club in the summer though and Karanka should take the chance to rest him.

So, Forest fans, would you like to see Goncalves start against Stoke? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
