HYS: Would Jermain Defoe be a good January signing for Nottingham Forest?

According to The Sun, Nottingham Forest, along with Crystal Palace and a handful of Championship clubs, are keeping a close eye on Jermain Defoe’s situation at Bournemouth with a view to making a January move for the veteran goalscorer.

The England international, who has hit an impressive 20 goals in 57 games for his country, has played just 22 Premier League minutes for the Cherries this season across four appearances, and is currently fourth-choice in the pecking order behind Callum Wilson, Josh King and Lys Mousset.

At present, Forest are lucky enough to have the Championship’s top scorer within their ranks in Lewis Grabban – the 30-year-old has 14 goals to his name so far this season. However, with Aitor Karanka’s men just two points off the play-off positions, there is perhaps the need for a fresh face through the door who can ensure that Grabban keeps up his form.

In that respect, would you like to see Defoe arrive at the City Ground in the Winter transfer window? Have your say down below, and keep an eye out for the published results…
