Nottingham Forest fans bemused by Bamford price tag

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka is seemingly in the market for a new forward, and it looks as though he has turned to his former club Middlesbrough.

On June 25, an exclusive report from TEAMtalk claimed that Patrick Bamford was one of the players Forest were keeping tabs on ahead of a move.

The report stated that the Reds had an £8m bid rejected as Boro want in the region of £16m for the former Chelsea player.

Bamford made 44 appearances in all competitions last season, and in that time he scored 13 goals and registered one assist.

The 24-year-old certainly has the quality to perform in Karanka’s team, but the asking price does seem a little steep for a Championship player.

Bamford began his career at Forest as he came through the ranks in 2011, but he moved to Chelsea a year later.

After failing to secure a regular first-team spot, the forward secured a permanent move to Boro last year.

On Twitter, Forest fans have been discussing the alleged fee for Bamford.
