Nottingham Forest fans on Twitter slate Costel Pantilimon after mistakes against Millwall

Nottingham Forest fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations with goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon after his mistakes allowed Millwall to come from two goals down to snatch a late point at the City Ground on Wednesday night.

Forest took the lead after 27 minutes when winger Joe Lolley was allowed to turn on the edge of the area and fired a low shot past Ben Amos in the Millwall net. Club-record signing Joao Carvalho then doubled the Reds’ advantage with a fantastic free-kick with just 20 minutes remaining.

However, it wasn’t to be for Aitor Karanka’s side and they ended up picking up their seventh league draw of the season so far after just 11 Championship games.

Romanian keeper Pantilimon, who is valued at £1.35m by Transfermarkt, was at fault for the first Millwall goal as he came for a cross but, despite his 6ft 8in frame, he got nowhere near the ball and Shaun Williams headed into an empty net.

Then, in stoppage time, Karanka’s keeper should have easily stopped Ryan Leonard’s ball across the box, but he somehow missed the ball completely and allowed Lee Gregory to prod the ball home at the far post. Check out some of the best tweets in reaction to Pantilimon’s mistakes below.
