Nottingham Forest had to take a share of the spoils on Friday evening after late drama saw them draw 2-2 with Millwall in south-east London.
Shaun Williams’ header in the 15th minute handed the home side a lead before Sabri Lamouchi inspired a comeback through the introduction of Lewis Grabban, who was surprisingly named on the bench before kickoff.
The Reds top goalscorer netted the first of two within a minute of being on the pitch, and Forest must have thought they won it when he slotted home from Sammy Ameobi’s low-driven pass across goal two minutes from time.
But in injury time, Lions striker Aiden O’Brien pounced on Brice Samba’s error to salvage a point at the death.
Lamouchi also handed a start to Alfa Semedo, his first since August having been out through injury over the past two months, but it is safe to say that he appeared some way off the pace – in the opinion of several of the travelling support…
Is semedo ok? He's all over the shop and completely at fault for that goal. Lazy defending #nffc

One supporter was left questioning whether the 22-year-old was actually feeling alright as he looked so off it while ‘awful’ and ‘shocker’ were two words used to describe his performance.
During the game itself, many called for him to get off the pitch as he was costing them a chance of getting something from the match…
Get Semedo off asap! #NFFC

Terrible half of football. Nothing at all has been done well. Semedo needs pulling off immediately! #NFFC

Per SofaScore, the defensive midfielder picked up a 6.6 rating while he could only manage a passing accuracy of 68%, won just 38% of his total duels and even lost possession 18 times.
It’s clear to see why several members of the Forest faithful were left reeling by his performance, and as the game neared its end and even post-match, they made it very clear on social media what they thought of his showing…
This ain’t good at all. Semedo is like a headless chicken and Watson. Robinson, Amoebi and Mir just ain’t sharp enough. Millwall first to everything #nffc

Wallace made Semedo look like a u16 schoolgirl tonight #nffc

Just terminate Semedo and Mir’s loans at half time. #NFFC

Worst they played all season. Semedo shouldn’t be starting ever again. Ameobi is awful Aswel.

Semedo is just a disaster. Mir pffft and Ameobi and Robinson have got lead in their boots. #NFFC

Semedo looks sloppy tonight. #nffc
— Daniel Green (@Greeny_original) December 6, 2019
‘Sloppy,’ ‘disaster’ and ‘headless chicken’ were just three of the phrases used to emphasise just how poor he was while one fan went as far as saying that Semedo shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting XI ever again.
Prior to the remainder of the Championship’s fixtures, Forest sat fourth in the division so even if the teams around them win, they’ll still firmly be in the playoff picture heading towards the New Year.
In other news, should Lamouchi look to the academy to bolster their defensive options instead of spending in January?
