Nottingham Forest fans split after Ben Watson’s display vs West Brom

Nottingham Forest twice surrendered a lead in their 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night, and Reds fans were completely split on midfielder Ben Watson after his display in the west Midlands.

Martin O’Neill’s men had the perfect opportunity to close the gap on the play-off positions against the Baggies, and it looked as though they were going to take advantage having twice gone ahead thanks to an own goal from Stefan Johansen and a fine strike by Ryan Yates.

However, Jay Rodriguez’s 89th-minute penalty meant the shares were spoiled in the end, and having been largely excluded from proceedings under previous manager Aitor Karanka, Watson played the full 90 minutes in a fourth consecutive Championship encounter, and he did show signs of some tiredness.

Forest supporters took to social media to have their say on the 5 foot 10 veteran’s most recent performance, and they were split with one describing him as “a virus to this club”, while another clearly disagreed and labelled his showing as “magnificent”.
