Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury looks set to miss the visit from his old club when his current side Aston Villa are due to host them on Wednesday night, and Reds fans have been quick to react to the news.
Injury issues and generally being out of favour meant that the 28-year-old hadn’t played a single minute of Championship football for the Villans this season, but that changed when he came on as a 68th-minute substitute in the 4-2 derby win against Birmingham City at Villa Park on Sunday.
However, he only lasted eight minutes before he picked up what looked to be a hamstring issue which meant that he had to be replaced, with reports now suggesting that he now won’t be available to face his former employers on Wednesday.
Nottingham Forest fans took to social media to give their thoughts on the setback for Lansbury, and it’s fair to say that many of them are suspicious of the timing.
While one said that they were “shocked”, another simply asked with regards to the injury: “surprised?”
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
