Nottingham Forest fans were impressed with Brereton’s bravery vs Ipswich

Nottingham Forest ended their poor run of form in the English Championship on Saturday with a late victory at home to Ipswich Town.

Forest had failed to score in their six matches prior to Saturday’s game and fans feared it would be the same old story before a dramatic end to the 90 minutes.

Trailing by a goal heading into closing stages of the match after a first half Grant Ward strike, the Reds were inspired by Ben Brereton to steal a win, who first scored an 89th minute penalty then assisted Joe Lolley deep into stoppage time for their winning goal.

Brereton has come under much criticism from supporters in recent weeks and months but showed great bravery to put that behind him and convert from the spot, after initially winning the foul.

Fans were hugely impressed with his strength of character, especially from a player who is still just 18 years of age.

Can that now inspire him to perform more consistently and score more goals before the end of the season?
