Nottingham Forest keen to recruit Podence following Sporting Lisbon exit, fans react

Nottingham Forest have had a positive transfer window so far, and it could potentially get better if these latest reports are to be believed.

On Monday, Portuguese publication ZeroZero reported that the Championship outfit have opened talks to sign Daniel Podence, who has become a free agent after leaving Sporting Lisbon.

The winger was one of a handful of first-team members who terminated their contracts following a violent attack on the squad in May.

Forest could end up with plenty of Portuguese talent given that they have already recruited Gil Dias, Joao Carvalho and Diogo Goncalves.

If the club manage to get a deal over the line, it could be a huge coup for Forest as he will be a free transfer.

Last season, Podence made just 19 appearances, and he created eight assists in that time and did not score a single goal.

After the reports emerged, Forest fans posted their reactions on Twitter.
