Nottingham Forest supporters rip into Costel Pantilimon

Nottingham Forest fans were left vexed with the display of goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon in their 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Supporters of Martin O’Neill’s side were angry with a number of different aspects of the Romanian’s game, suggesting he was at fault for all of the goals.

John McGinn scored twice, hitting the ball low on both occasions which meant the tall frame of the ex-Manchester City ‘keeper wasn’t able to get down to make the save. This was one of the main issues the Forest faithful were left extremely irritated with.

But complaints didn’t stop there. Fans continued to lay into their number one, calling out his poor distribution skills, whilst naming him a liability and a fraud.

Their reaction showed no boundaries as a barrage of criticism was heaped on the 32-year-old with one Reds supporter saying a new goalkeeper is clearly needed after his inconsistent displays between the posts.

Pantilimon has been ever-present for Forest in the Championship this season, playing 37 times, but there could now be pressure for him to be dropped from the side.
