Former West Ham midfielder Diego Poyet has taken to Twitter to respond to speculation that he could join Derby County, with the free agent denying reports that he is training with the Championship side.
Son of the legendary Gus Poyet, 21-year-old Diego saw his contract mutually terminated by the Hammers at the end of August and has been without a club ever since. However, he has been linked with a number of clubs since.
Derby are a great football club but despite reports on here I would like to confirm I'm not currently training with the team.

Poyet, who made ten senior appearances during his career with West Ham, praised Derby as a ‘great football club’ but there’s no progress in anything thus far, despite being linked with a move to the Rams this week.
The most recent reports now tout Scottish giants Rangers with a move for Poyet, having terminated Joey Barton’s contract in Glasgow earlier this week, but it remains to be seen whether the U20 England international will move North of the Border.
During his fledgling career so far, Poyet has also spent time on-loan with Huddersfield Town, MK Dons and Charlton.
