Queens Park Rangers revealed on Wednesday that they had completed the signing of defender Ben Wells from West Ham United.
Wells captained West Ham at Under-18 level, and it is understood that he turned down the chance to sign a new contract with the Hammers in favour of joining QPR.
The 18-year-old has penned a one-year deal with the R’s until the end of next season, and will start with the club’s Under-23 team with the view to progressing to the first team.
It is not quite the signing that the QPR fans would have had in mind as they look ahead to what is a very important 2018-19 campaign, but the club’s supporters still took the time to welcome Wells to Loftus Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Wells has joined Joe Felix in moving to QPR’s Under-23 outfit, and he has plenty of experience at youth level, which will stand him in good stead as he makes the step up.

The QPR fans, who were eyeing a shock move for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann earlier this summer, have been airing their views on Wells’ arrival on social media.
