QPR fans can look forward to the 2019/20 season with renewed optimism; a new manager with some good ideas has been brought in while positive signs were there on the final day of the season, although there are still some areas that need sorting out.

For instance, with Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells set to return to Brighton and Burnley respectively, the Hoops will be short on strikers next term and will surely be in the market for another hitman this summer - some R's fans think that a former player might be just the man to fire them back to glory.

Charlie Austin scored a brace against Wigan to send the Hoops to Wembley Stadium for a play-off final date with Derby back in 2014, which they would eventually win 1-0 to secure promotion to the top flight. It's been a pretty rough ride for the fans since, though, and they would surely love to have both player and Premier League status back now.

The burly striker had some of his best years in blue and white but is now having some of his worst at Southampton.

With the injury-prone number 10 behind Danny Ings and Shane Long in the pecking order, he could be deemed surplus to requirements in the coming months and a few of the Loftus Road faithful are dreaming of a return after the club tweeted a picture of his all-important strike against the Rams. Others, meanwhile, merely appreciated the significance of the goal and Austin's contribution to the club.
