On Wednesday afternoon, QPR announced that Mark Warburton will take over from caretaker boss John Eustace and the 56-year-old has a mammoth task on his hands to turn the club’s fortunes around.
The Hoops have lurched from disaster to disaster this season both on and off the pitch, although things have begun to look up in recent weeks, with the 2-1 victory away at Sheffield Wednesday a positive way to sign off for the season.
With the R’s having finished in a lowly 19th place this term, the Loftus Road faithful will be hoping that former Brentford boss Warburton can guide them to a much more respectable finish next campaign.

With budget and resources likely to remain stringent, the appointment seems a smart one given the former right-back’s past successes despite similarly damning circumstances.
