Queens Park Rangers have a 'good chance' of signing midfielder Alexis Blin from Toulouse before Friday's deadline, according to La Depeche du Midi.

What's the word?

A turbulent start to the Championship campaign has left QPR facing an uphill battle to avoid relegation this season and Steve McClaren is looking to bolster his ranks before the loan deadline slams shut later today.

The former England boss is keen to add a new defender and a midfielder to his side, with French outlet La Depeche du Midi stating there is a 'good chance' of a deal being agreed for Toulouse's France U21 midfielder Alexis Blin.

An exit is anticipated for Blin due to his lack of appearances in the South Coast of France and the fact that he had not been training with the first-team recently, with a deal likely taking the midfielder on loan to QPR for the remainder of the season before returning to the Ligue 1 side.

What can he offer?

The 21-year-old talent plays is most natural in a defensive midfield role, which means he can provide protection to a frail QPR defence that has already conceded 13 goals in five Championship matches so far this season.

Capped twice by France's U21 side, Blin has already accumulated 82 league appearances with Toulouse since making his first-team debut in 2015 - with 26 appearances coming last season as Toulouse only managed to avoid relegation by defeating Ajaccio in a play-off.

While his age may suggest a lack of experience, his history in recent campaigns show that is not the case but the concern QPR will have is to whether he can immediately settle into English football.
