Whilst Queens Park Rangers have picked up a win and a draw from their previous two Championship fixtures, Steve McClaren’s side have had a torrid start to the 2018/19 campaign, with their summer signings proving insufficient thus far.

What’s the issue?

Queens Park Rangers have found the net just three times so far this season in their opening six fixtures - the least of any of the 24 teams in the Championship.

In the summer transfer window, Steve McClaren looked to bolster their attacking arsenal with the acquisition of Burnley front man Nahki Wells on a season-long loan, but it is yet to pay off.

The 28-year-old forward, who has made two appearances for the R’s so far this term, is yet to find the back of the net in a QPR shirt, causing concern amongst the ranks at Loftus Road.

Currently sat in 22nd place in the table and in desperate need of points to avoid another relegation scrap, Steve McClaren will face a tough decision when the Championship season resumes after the international break - whether to continue his faith in Wells, or revert back to the likes of Matt Smith.

What has gone wrong?

Queens Park Rangers bought in a handful of new players over the summer transfer window, with the loan signing of Nahki Wells bringing a sense of anticipation back to Loftus Road.

Whilst QPR’s results have been positive in the forwards first two starts for the club, the lack of goals is a worry for Steve McClaren’s side.

In desperate need of somebody to solve their goalscoring woes, all the pressure has gone on to Wells, who is yet to deliver the goods for his new side.

Only time will tell if he is the answer to QPR’s troubles, but as things stand, he hasn’t set the Championship alight as yet – causing further alarm for the QPR faithful.
