Queens Park Rangers have suffered a difficult start to the season under new boss Steve McClaren, but the signing of midfielder Geoff Cameron on the loan deadline day did excite fans on Twitter.
United States international Cameron joined on a season-long loan deal from Stoke, where he has been since signing from MLS side Houston Dynamo in the summer of 2012.
Cameron made 20 Premier League appearances last season as Stoke were relegated from England’s top flight, but he had yet to play for the Potters so far this season under new boss Gary Rowett.
The 55-cap international is 33 years old so comes with plenty of experience and can play either at centre-back, right-back or in defensive midfield.
Cameron became McClaren’s fourth signing of the summer and the Englishman will be hoping his new man can improve the R’s leaky defence. Check out some of the best tweets in reaction to the deal below.

Geoff Cameron is an interesting one. Jack of all trades, master of none but probably better than what we have. #QPR

Exactly what we need I think. Experienced and versatile defender who knows all the dirty tricks of the game. Our naivety was exposed against Sheff Utd and Preston. Also an alternative to Leistner who has looked very shaky so far

Good signing this. 6 years playing in the top flight can only benefit us! Pass on his knowledge to the younger players too! #UnbelievableGeoff
