QPR fans have taken to Twitter to show their support to Nahki Wells, after the striker apologised for his error in the 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough. The Bermuda international scored the R's first goal of the game, before an own goal by Jonny Howson allowed Mark Warburton's side to take a 2-1 lead into the half-time break.

Unfortunately for the Londoners and for Wells, the on-loan Burnley striker saw his attempted backpass to Joe Lumley cut out by Britt Assombalonga, before the Boro forward dinked the ball into the back of the net.

It was a costly mistake by Wells as it meant QPR left the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium with one point rather than three, although after scoring eight Championship goals already this season, the R's supporters on Twitter have found it easy to forgive the 29-year-old attacker.

One fan said "don't be silly" in response to Wells' apology, whereas another said that they respect him for doing so despite there being no need for the striker to apologise.

Let's take a look at some more of the Twitter reaction...
