QPR have announced the signing of defender Ali Omar on a one year deal.
The 18-year-old is yet to make his professional debut in football but featured in the club’s pre-season games against Staines Town and Swindon Town as a trialist.
Omar was previously part of Stevenage’s under 18 side and reportedly attracted interest from a number of clubs this summer.
The centre-back will join up with the Under 23 side at Loftus Road but they will hope that he can progress to the first team at some point in the near future.
Omar is one of few arrivals at Loftus Road this summer after a very quiet transfer window so far for Steve McClaren.
Toni Leistner has joined the club on a free after his contract expired at Union Berlin, but he’s the only first-team arrival so far.
QPR fans have been reacting to the announcement of Omar on social media and here’s a selection of what they’ve had to say.
Welcome to QPR, decent cover for Bidwell

Very good bit of business that. Only last year Bournemouth were circling around him. Lots of potential 👌🏻
