QPR looked to have turned a corner early on in the New Year but defeat to Brentford reminded fans that there is still plenty of work to do to for the R’s to turn into a consistent side.
Mark Warburton has had to be patient in installing a passing style in West London and it seems for every positive result – such as the recent thrashings of Cardiff and Swansea – there is an equally disappointing loss.
The Bees have now done the double over QPR to add to recent woes, with a 5-3 loss to Barnsley also contributing to a run of just two wins in seven games.

Some supporters are understandably frustrated after seeing their side go 3-0 down at half-time at Griffin Park, and most of their criticism has been aimed at Warburton for both his tactics and team selection.
Tactics were diabolical.

Think you need to take a long hard look personally Mark. Got it completely wrong today.

Blame lies squarely at the door of Mark Warburton today. Terrible team selection

You take your goalscorer off not even ten minutes later ? Absolutely ridiculous decision and tactics

He’s just blamed the wind 🤣

Got the team selection wrong today. Plain and simple.
Get it right for Dirty Leeds.
Defence has been a problem all season & needs to be sorted. Stop making the same mistakes every week. Good news is Masterson looks promising. @Amit_Bhatia99 @tonyfernandes @Ruben_E_G @QPR

There is little patience being shown for the R’s boss despite the team sitting 11 points above the relegation zone, and entertaining fans with their recent big wins.
As a result, he can feel a little harshly treated, particularly as he and the team are very much at the beginning of a long-term project, with mishaps like the match against Brentford a necessarily evil on the path to long-term improvement.
Warburton has had some fans coming to his defence, though, with one rightly pointing out the fact that QPR are in a better position now than they were last season, which means the manager is being needlessly criticised.
Just seen the #BREQPR highlights. We always get beat by Brentford and on sky nothing new there. We are in a much better place than we were before Warburton came in he is doing a good job, we have played some great football this season! (1)

It’s a journey we are on. Anyone who thinks Warburton thinks it is ok to lose has lost their mind. Brentford are a good side, better than us and ahead of where we are as a club. Could we have done things better today – yes for sure. Have we progressed since last year – no doubt

Elsewhere, fan discontent with Mark Waburton has been apparent for a little while, with a former manager eyed up by some fans as a possible replacement.
