Reading look set to battle it out with a host of other clubs for the services of Doncaster defender Tommy Spurr, according to Sky Sports.

Royals boss Nigel Adkins is busy making plans for next season's Championship campaign as he attempts to guide the club back to the Premier League and a host of new players are set to arrive.

Spurr, who is set to fall out of contract with Doncaster, is said to be on Adkins' wanted list but a host of other clubs including Blackburn, Derby, Ipswich and Birmingham are also interested in the left-back.

Rovers are back in the Championship after winning promotion on the last day of the season and will offer Spurr fresh terms in the hope he will accept.

However the 25-year-old has plenty of options and the chance to join Reading, who are one of the favourites for promotion, could be too good to turn down.
