A dejected Royals skipper Jobi McAnuff was keen to put Sunday afternoon's defeat firmly behind them as quickly as possible - and focus solely on the Royals’ next Premier League fixture at West Brom.

Losing is not a feeling Reading are familiar with at the Madejski Stadium - the 3-1 loss was the club’s first home defeat since January – but McAnuff insisted that the players will learn fast and look to put things right next weekend. McAnuff told the official Reading website:

"We made it too easy for Tottenham, but no-one will be moping around - we’re going to get on with it. We’ve got to learn fast in this league and we will.

"We’ve got a week to get our heads around it and put one or two things right. There were a few mistakes but we never blame anyone and we won’t start doing that. When we’re not playing well we need to get through games like we did last season. Together."

The trip to The Hawthorns may present Reading's first realistic opportunity of picking up points after tough fixtures against Chelsea and Tottenham early in the Premier League season.
