A very slight majority of the West Brom fans that answered our recent poll said that they would not back a loan move for Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis in January.

This could perhaps be because of the form of summer-signing Conor Townsend at left wing-back in the absence of Kieran Gibbs in recent weeks.

Townsend has started the past two Championship games, including last Saturday where his return to former club Hull City would have been tainted somewhat by the Baggies unexpected 1-0 loss.

Lewis could well be available in the winter transfer window to give West Brom boss Darren Moore another option in such a key position, but only 47 per cent of the Baggies fans that voted in our poll said they would support a move.

Recently, Goal reported that Liverpool’s current back-up at left-back Alberto Moreno would not be given a new contract and that he would be allowed to leave on a free-transfer in the summer of 2019. The Spaniard has struggled since arriving at Anfield in the summer of 2014 and lost his place to Andrew Robertson last season.

The report also claimed that Jurgen Klopp has been impressed by 18-year-old academy prospect Lewis, who has provided five assists from left-back in 11 U23 games this season, and that he would become the understudy at Anfield next season.
