Sheffield United centre-back Jack O'Connell has established himself as one of the club's best and most important players since Chris Wilder signed him from Brentford for an undisclosed fee just over two years ago.

The 24-year-old has once again been an ever-present and played every single minute for his team in the Championship so far this season – including the 3-2 win against Millwall at The Den on Saturday – with the Blades now in fourth position and well in promotion contention.

The Blackburn Rovers youth product was reportedly the subject of an £8m bid from Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion during the summer transfer window, and it is no surprise that the Seagulls were taking a look at the highly-rated central defender given his consistent performances for the Yorkshire outfit in England's second tier.

With decent centre-backs seemingly harder to come by at the current time, and with transfer fees hugely inflated, we at Football FanCast decided to ask United fans to vote on our poll to see whether they agreed with our opinion that O'Connell is now worth more than £15m in the modern-day market.

70% of those supporters that took part agreed with us – 37% believe he is worth between £15m-£19.99m with another 33% saying he should be valued at more than £20m – as you can see below, showing just how highly they rate the big defender.
