Leeds are eyeing up a summer swoop for Derby’s Matej Vydra, but should Sheffield Wednesday throw their hat in the ring?
Derby are expected to sell last season’s top scorer this summer, as the Rams look to trim their squad and wage bill.
Vydra, who has five goals in 20 caps for the Czech Republic, has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds, but Wednesday should absolutely be rivalling the move.
According to reports, Leeds want both Vydra and Abel Hernandez, but Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post believes Marcelo Bielsa will only bring in one of the two strikers, which should allow the Owls to swoop in and steal the other.
Bielsa will want to add more goals to his squad after arriving at Elland Road to the sight of Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Roy Grot, but it seems more likely that it will be Hernandez.

Vydra scored as many Championship goals last season as Gary Hooper and Atdhe Nuhiu combined, and at 26 the Czech international is younger than both Wednesday men.
The Derby striker has excellent movement and instincts, and it’s not often a 20-goal striker is up for sale, so the Owls should absolutely swoop in and try their luck.
So, Sheffield Wednesday fans, would you back a summer swoop for Vydra? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
