Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter have been ecstatic after it was revealed Kieran Lee will return to first-team action this weekend.
Lee has been with the club since 2012 after joining from Oldham and was a key player for the Owls for years before injury saw him miss a large portion of last season. The midfielder hasn’t yet recovered fully having not made a single appearance for Wednesday throughout 2018/19.
The midfielder underwent knee surgery following a setback in further set back in November.
The 30-year-old is now in line to make his first appearance since December 2017 this weekend and Wednesday fans are excited to see their man back in action.
Lee’s contract is up this summer and it is currently unknown whether or not he will be offered a new deal after his injury worries.
Due to the extent of his injuries, the fan favourite has been unable to play under the Owls new boss Steve Bruce so this weekend is his chance to impress.
Here’s what Wednesday fans have been saying on Twitter…
For me this lad makes us tick, the one guy who we’ve missed terribly. I rate this lad so highly & we’re lucky he’s ours. Swfc shouldn’t even think about letting this lad leave.

He was such an important and underrated player before he was injured. chipped in with important goals too. I just hope he can get back to decent form and he’ll be like a new signing.
