McTominay has made seven appearances for United this term and 31 in total for the Red Devils since stepping into the first-team picture.
The 22-year-old has often been criticised by United fans, but he was certainly a favourite of Jose Mourinho.

McTominay was involved against Reading in the FA Cup last weekend, but probably will not make the squad for United’s Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The 6ft 4in ace has had a tough time in recent months, but he is capable of making a huge difference to a Championship club.
And with that in mind – we recently asked the Sheffield Wednesday fans whether they would want to sign the Scotland international on loan.
As it transpired, 68% of those polled urged their club to make a move for the midfielder this month.
Wednesday are now under the management of Steve Bruce and the Championship outfit’s new boss could look for a favour from the club that he captained during his playing days.
