Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed this week that attacker Fernando Forestieri is back training with the first team, giving supporters a glimpse of the player with photos on social media.

The Owls forward, who scored 12 goals and created six assists last term, has been out for the vast majority of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
Fans couldn’t be more excited he’s returning, believing he’s a significant upgrade on their current attacking options.
Wednesday have been destroyed by injuries this term and their form has suffered badly as a result. However, with key first team players like Forestieri returning, supporters will be hopeful they can show signs of progress before the end of the season.
They’re now hoping to see the player back in the first team as soon as possible. Will the former Watford man face Preston after the international break?
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his return…
Just imagining the cheers from around Hillsborough when Forestieri’s back on the pitch 😍🤩 ahhhhh sooo giddyyy #swfc 💙

I don’t think Forestieri has any option but to get himself fit, back in the team, and playing like the star we know he is. No reason to suspect he has any other plans. Let’s get behind him. He’s still our most talented player, and the only one who can do something special. #swfc

The fact that Forestieri, van Aken, Matias and Bannan will all be ready to start our next game makes me very happy #swfc
