Sheffield Wednesday suffered their fifth consecutive loss on Tuesday night, this time defeated 2-1 by Ipswich at Hillsborough in the English Championship.
Martyn Waghorn scored a double either side of Lucas Joao’s equaliser for Wednesday, increasing the pressure on Owls manager Jos Luhukay as he looks to find answers to their recent awful form.
Luhukay’s side look like a side bereft of confidence and belief, struggling to launch effective attacks, managing just two shots on target on Tuesday evening.
Fans were left disappointed and frustrated with the performance, just as they were at the weekend after a heavy defeat to Bristol City.
Much of the criticism was aimed at Jordan Rhodes, who looked well off the pace in the first half before eventually being hauled off for goalscorer Joao at the interval.
With just four Championship goals this season, his spell at the Owls is rapidly approaching ‘flop’ levels and supporters are concerned he won’t ever find form at Hillsborough.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
I think there is more chance of Jesus winning the raffle at my Christmas party than rhodes ever finding form again #swfc

Honestly think we only have a chance if Clare and Joao start on Saturday. Rhodes – dunno what's wrong but he offers absolutely nothing at the minute. Nuhiu is never going to score a lot but at least he does something out there and we have nobody else available…. #swfc

Please can we just somehow put a team out that doesn’t have Palmer, Loovens, Butterfield or Rhodes in it on Saturday 🙏 surely we’d be better off playing someone out of position at right back if hunt not fit like we have done with Boyd, I can’t watch them anymore #swfc

Jordan Rhodes is on more per week than what most of us can hope to earn in over two years….. Just let that sink in. #swfc

I don’t care how many letters he writes, how many pairs of gloves he gives away or if he’s the nicest man in football. Jordan Rhodes is one of the worst strikers I’ve seen at Hillsborough and offers absolutely nothing!!
