Sheffield Wednesday fans heap praise on Michael Hector after latest Twitter post

Steve Bruce made his Hillsborough bow on Saturday afternoon but he was unable to make it two wins from two as Sheffield Wednesday drew 0-0 with Reading.

A home clash against the Royals offered Bruce a decent opportunity to build upon the victory over Ipswich last weekend, and the new manager has reason to feel disappointed after Adam Reach spurned a glorious opportunity to get the three points in the dying embers of the game.

There were positives for the manager to take from the fixture, though, as another sturdy defensive performance provided the foundations for the result, with Michael Hector continuing to impress at the heart of the defensive unit.

The 26-year-old has established himself as a popular figure in Sheffield this season, and another exemplary performance on Saturday only enhanced his reputation.

Hector posted a message to the supporters on his Twitter account on Sunday afternoon, revealing that he felt his side deserved the victory before turning attention towards the Tuesday night clash with Millwall.

In response to the post, the Wednesday fans turned out in their numbers to heap praise on the firm fan-favourite for his performance and also called for his temporary deal to be made permanent in the summer.

Here’s what the Sheffield Wednesday fans had to say in response to Hector’s Twitter post:
