Sheffield Wednesday fans rage at opening day defeat

Loads of Sheffield Wednesday fans have been giving their verdict on the opening day defeat at Wigan, and they all agree they are going nowhere fast under the current ownership.

The Owls’ season got off to just about the worst possible start on Saturday afternoon, losing 3-2 at the DW Stadium.

Michael Jacobs gave the hosts an early lead, and the 26 year-old doubled his tally to restore the lead after Atdhe Nuhiu had equalised for the Owls.

The second half followed much the same pattern as the first, and Fernando Forestieri’s first goal of the season was not enough to atone for Nick Powell’s goal.

While the result would suggest things aren’t all that bad, the performance was really disappointing, and Nuhiu capped it off by getting himself a second yellow card just minutes from full time.

The Owls have been unable to make any signings this summer, and will now play their next match without their best goalscorer.

Jos Luhukay has got one hell of a job on his hands here, and fans are absolutely going in on owner Dejphon Chansiri for the lack of transfers.
