Sheffield Wednesday fans react as star striker Steven Fletcher discusses injury woes

Sheffield Wednesday fans have been reacting on Twitter after star striker Steven Fletcher discussed his latest injury woes with the club.

The 32-year-old pulled out of Scotland’s squad for the start of their UEFA 2020 European Championship qualifying campaign over fears about his ongoing knee problems.

However, ironically, he ended up sustaining a groin injury in the last match before the international break anyway and it was this blow that he was updating supporters on.

Fletcher claimed he felt “upbeat” and has been working hard with the physios to return back to action as soon as possible and quite right too given his key nine goals and two assists in 33 Sky Bet Championship appearances this season.

Owls fans responded with good-will messages towards the veteran forward of the “we’re all behind you, Fletch” like and other comments calling him a “legend” and proclaiming that the ex-Sunderland man has been the team’s player of the season.
