Sheffield Wednesday fans are split on whether or not Kieran Lee should be offered a new deal at Hillsborough.
Lee was a key player for the Owls for years before injury saw him miss a large portion of last season. The midfielder hasn’t yet recovered fully having not made a single appearance for Wednesday throughout 2018/19.
The 30-year-old was back in action for the U23s this week but he still has a long way to go before returning to the first-team.
Lee’s contract is up this summer and fans of the Yorkshire club have been debating whether or not he should be kept on next season.
Here’s what Sheffield Wednesday fans have been saying on Twitter…

Unfortunately no for both him and Hooper imo. We need fresh input rather than relying on the same 4/5 to be fit and on form. Plus the Wednesday curse will no doubt stike them down again

I voted a very sad no. I’d like the owls to bring in a younger version of Keiran Lee. To much of a risk, will he ever be the same? Will his hip collapse? He’s bound to have lost some zip & pace. Love the lad, but imo we’ve seen & had the best from him.

Yes George if he proves his fitness

Loved him at club but time to go ! We haven’t got the money to be taking gambles and that goes for hoops too

Pay as you play contract or nothing for me

Well this is a big one. Was at his peak when getting the injury, but also still improving. Massive gamble however his options have to be limited. Has to be a short contract with appearance bonus. Nothing to lose either side.

Yes. But let him prove that he can be first choice. Same with Hooper.
Get rid of Abdi, Nuhiu, Jones, Van Aken, Pudil, Winnall.
And then bring a couple of younger players in. #SWFC
You can’t buy class like Lee and Hooper for under 5 million.
